The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum is dedicated to the preservation, study, production, and printing of wood type. New Impressions is an international, juried exhibition to showcase exploration and creativity with letterpress printing techniques. From this age-old tradition, Hamilton strives to challenge and inspire artists to continue the love of printing.

This is the third year of the New Impressions juried exhibition. Work on display is from 34 different letterpress artists from 9 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Spain, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, and Italy.

Following the presentation at Hamilton, the show travels to School of Visual Concepts in Seattle, Washington where it will be on display from September 1 - October 30, 2017.

2017 Calendar

  • April 15 - Exhibition opens
  • June 17 - Exhibition reception and awards, 5-7pm (and Open House from 1 - 5 pm)
  • June 30 - Exhibition closes at Hamilton
  • September 1-October 31- Exhibition on display at School of Visual Concepts in Seattle, Washington

Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum will exhibit Leslie Nichols's print Typeface in the exhibition New Impressions. This international juried exhibition will showcase exploration and creativity with letterpress printing techniques. Following exhibition at Hamilton, the show travels to Design College Australia in Brisbane for a one-month display

The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum is dedicated to wood type preservation, study, production, and printing with their collection of of more than 1.5 million pieces of wood type and blocks. From this age-old tradition, Hamilton strives to challenge and inspire artists to continue the love of printing.
